The Requirement

With 7,222 sq. mt. of flooring to be installed, the project called for a solution that could deliver the right balance of functionality, durability, and design across a large-scale healthcare environment.  

The client wanted flooring which requires no wax or polish and requires no maintenance, at the same time a flooring product which was higher grade and did not need to be maintained. They also wanted a floor which came in vibrant colours and did not allow bacteria and fungi to grow on it

The SquareFoot Solution

Squarefoot installed IQ Megalit and IQ Toro SC flooring across the project.

The combination brings together a practical, contemporary flooring solution with a clean and consistent finish - well suited to the demanding nature of healthcare spaces.

IQ Megalit if one of the toughest IQ products available with Tarkett and can be used in public areas as well as patient rooms. The product is one of the toughest in terms of stains, bacteria, and fungi

IQ Toro SC is a permanently conductive flooring made in Sweden. It comes with carbon backing from manufacturing and is a permanently conductive product. It is also an IQ products and requires no maintenance and is difficult to stain

With two complementary products used across the project, the flooring creates a cohesive visual language while meeting the functional demands of a large hospital environment.

IQ Toro SC Conductive Flooring

IQ Toro SC is a permanently conductive flooring solution manufactured in Sweden. Its conductive construction incorporates a carbon backing during manufacturing to provide permanent conductive performance.

Why IQ Megalit and IQ Toro SC Were Selected?

The combination of IQ Megalit and IQ Toro SC allowed Squarefoot to address different flooring requirements across the hospital.

IQ Megalit was selected for areas where durability, low maintenance, stain resistance and design flexibility were key considerations.

IQ Toro SC was selected for applications requiring permanently conductive flooring and electrostatic-control performance.

Together, the two products created a practical flooring strategy that balanced performance, maintenance, functionality, and design across the 7,222 sq. mt. healthcare project.
